And then there are the so called Pinup girls, Today's women don't have any real idea of what a pinup girl is.

When I see ads on fb and elsewhere for pin up models I have to laugh and figure that the applicant choices have no clue or idea of what a true pinup girl is. So I figured out that maybe I could clue ya'll in.
During WWII some of the military pilots started putting images of women on their aircraft. Usually in cartoon form, and some that were painted on from photographs of famous actress's at the time such as Myrna Loy and Patti Page. Marlyn Monroe and others came along as well. 

These were the dreams of many men fighting a big war and a few exotic images in a foot or crew locker was all the rage. Because they were pinned up in those lockers and such is where the name Pin UP girl came from. 
There are some that try to do this 

They just can't measure up . That said this is why we do and what we as a vintage military aviation squadron look for when we post want ads for our radio station AyreWolfFM as well as our ads for the squadron.
