SSDD Those who wear blinders need to see the lyte

After nearly a week of 140 mile round trips to Boise I'm finally home on solid ground. It has been a real eye opener. Some have said you never get a second chance to make a first impression but way too many judge only what they see not what is under the cover. Which is too bad. When an entire state and that includes even the cap city of Boise is under real hell budget wise and lack of economic expansion one needs to say, maybe there is much too much surface examination and not taking the time to really look under the hood or even take me around the block for the test drive so-to-speak.

What I have discovered though in Boise is that not everyone wants to powder my behind with lead like many in GF do . Seems no matter what I do to try and pull the area out of a deep economic comedian zone, all I get is flack. So why even try . Let the dang place continue to decay, more people loose their jobs, and the biggest business being the local U-Haul dealer since many are moving away then perhaps a few will say oops we did too much to push this guy out, but by that time my rides will shine, I'll have renewed my GA Certificate and all GF as well will be a gas stop for me on the way to Bliss where the next big thing on the HUD for the KOA is.

Then I have to look into the MHN's Bitch Box where some guy by the online handle of Mr.Mister writes about me. Supposedly he is a mental illness quack. Ever notice those who work in Mental illness clinics are in dyer need of mental help than those they are treating?

Got a few leads on a place or two in Boise so am going to look into that further over the next few weeks, and get my six and Wolf Pack up that way, and just forget that I made a huge goof in moving to Goons Ferry, and all and think, boy ya'll should have just made the beeline to Boise in the first place . Over the last few days I have been in the company of some very fine ladies and feeling like number one much more than anything or anyone has held out the welcome sign in these neck of the forest. And yet for all of it, most of the folks I meet and do business with in MH treat me okay, so there must be some very fried folks except for about two that I met on the Bitch Box but most in MH are kuel, not blinded fools like some others on there. Saw that Stoney's Cafe looks to reopen soon and next to it is an old office complex that looks like someone was going to remodel then just came to a screeching halt. Going to MH menyanna and look into a few things, but Star Wars is on so this ye ole Wolf is code 7.

The Wolf hunts the weakest first

As anyone who knows anything about the wyld kingdom will tell you a wolf will go after the weakest of a herd first. In human kind that means exploring new opportunities when the economy is the weakest is better than trying to buy something when the seller can be more choosy. Such is the case with a bar in Garden City, that I'm seriously looking at approaching the 214 into buying. Why not open the domestic version of the Sheep's Pen. An military and otherwise aviator bar and eating/meeting place. With that in place there would no longer be the scheduling and headaches of our model/talent contests, meeting places etc, it could always be smack dab at the Sheep's Pen. Honoring Pappy as well as the 214 and all military first aviators, but mostly Pappy Boyington and The BlackSheep. So what about tradition and honoring of Shorty's Saloon? While the same name may be on the door its not Shorty's anymore. The current owners have spoiled the place and the magic that was once there is no longer there. So what if we move things down the street a few blocks, put up our own sign and say friends we is open and aviators this is your bar.

Okay then what happens to the gig at Shorty's in February? Still going to happen as planned but it'll be the last there. Just because it was , don't mean it is and many do not consider taking risks or pushing the envelope, like a Marine Aviator . Nuff sedd.

Need sleep gotta be up at 09:30 hours.

When we get together

When the members of the 214 get together its a great meeting. Nearly all of whether a few civies believe it or not, but nearly all of us flew some pretty airy missions and while some of our chit chat does bend the rules of truth a bit our honor on both sides of the fence must be maintained no matter the cost. Now I have a great friend who lives in Mountain Home somewhere, by the name of Mike. While he spent some time working in the USAF , he still sports and is proud of his USMC heritage and duty, likewize so am I. There are two sayings we as Marines like to say , once a Marine always a Marine, and two, a Marine never retires he or she just gets reassigned. From the time one steps off the bus at Paris Island to the time one sits in his(or her) first Harrier your service is one of pride, duty, strength and honor. Of that last word the AyreWolves will begin to nominate members to be inducted into a very treasured membership, one of the AyreWolves Honor Guard. These will be members who work tirelessly for the efforts of the AyreWolves and who make time for duty assignments. With that said and yes many of us are now what one would call reassigned, the mission has never been greater. Our nation is under attack not from some outside force but within side our borders. Freedom as its been said is not free. Many must be willing to hear the cry of the warrior inside them, but the main objective is to not stifle that cry but to let that cry burst out and fight for what you know is a good cause. As such while still very much in its infancy , the formation or rather reformation of what will be called the United States Confederate Marine Corps will now be the next mission of the AyreWolves. This will not be an easy task nor one that will not be one that will be easy, and we are sure to get tangled up in threats and self degrading comments from civies. But those same Civies will be the ones that after will hopefully say thank you. Was going up to Shorty's again this weekend but funds being what they are elected to just remain on station and truck up there next week to get things done on the home front. There will be time enough for getting things in gear in Boise once I get moved up there near the end of the month.

Saw a great video last night on a training site of warbird collectors restorers of the grand F4U the video is an old Navy/Marine training film and it does show that as much as many would think, the F4U was not all that easy to fly, but once mastered can be a pleasure. The F4U was not a byrd that flew by wire, there was no computers or advanced avionics but flew like a feather once you got the in cockpit duties put together. Still trying to find a junked out hull of a Bell 222H to revive our groups and my call sign's name sake. Have not found one. Thought of trying to find that Doctor in Europe who bought the original 222H and turned it into an air ambulance. Shame she had to retire that way. Can a computerized mach plus helo be built? I say yes, and I as always will prove it, just by building it. Think I found help on that in Boise at the HQ of the FireHawks in Boise there. Will investigate and get back with you soon.

As I close , think of our members both on our soil and those in battle lands, and think who you want to nominate to the AyreWolves Honor Guard. Deadline for nominations is April 27th 2009.

There are those who understand and those who have no idea.

I read somewhat at a chuckle this one blurb on the infamous MHN Bitch Box that said I had no respect for women or Asians , excuse me did I ever say anything like that? If I did I never saw it. Of course I have respect for women , probably more than most I know. I would never cuss in front of a woman, always try to be a southern gentlemen and always try to conduct myself as an officer of the USCMC. When it comes to Asians I respect them, as a people. Of course I grew up in a family where my father fought in WWII alongside Pappy Boyington in as part of the original VMF214. Of which our organization has as its core foundation. WWII in the Solomon Islands was after all with the Japanese, so do I hate them as a whole no, do I trust them? No. Just a final approach thought tonight. As I put this byrd in the hanger, and head for my bunk.

The Miss AyreWolf and SheWolves project

Every year the tradition continues. The selection of the person who will be Miss AyreWolf and the 11 others who become the SheWolves for the year. These female contestants become the feature talent for all events and activities of the AyreWolves Vintage Aviation Association and of course AyreWolf Aviation. However the pageant is not one of bikini's and overtly sexual, its to see if the eye candy can think and will honor the traditions and enhance the organization. Miss AyreWolf gets a modeling contract worth $150,000.00 and the SheWolves get an annual modeling/talent contract worth slightly less at $20,000.00 each. From the best legs in nylon hose of course, to the tight Wrangler jean part of the contest is where the looks side begins and ends. Mental aptitude is tested. Does she know the legends of the VMF214 BlackSheep Squadron, does she know southern culture, military combat aviation, motorsports including NASCAR, NHRA, southern military knowledge is also part of the mental aptitude part of the contest. Does she have a brain? Can she think on her feet, does she have leadership qualities? All are overall parts of the evaluation. After all of this a night that usually lasts for 3 hours or so, the audience, judges, and members of the Knytes of Anarchy, the AyreWolves, vote by applause and ballot. The winners are then contacted by phone for a final interview and then invited back for the awarding ceremony about two weeks after. This year as is our tradition the Miss AyreWolf and SheWolves project Pageant returns to Shorty's Saloon in Garden City/Boise. Where ya'll can now sign up. The Pageant is set for February 14 2009. Which is not just for Valentines Day, but because as in the calendar , Feb 14th is the 2nd month of the year or 2, and the day is 14 equals 214, as in VMF(VMA)214 to honor the core of our organization the BlackSheep Squadron.

The 3 points and the circle

Honor, sacrifice , tradition that is the three points of the creed of the Knytes-of-Anarchy. These points are not negotiable. No matter the task. If these points might be broken, the task becomes discarded. I went tonight with many KOA members to the monthly get together at Shorty's Saloon. Shorty's to us is sacred ground. It is immortal, Shorty's Saloon is one place that retains tradition, although those who now own it do not recognize that tradition or the honor that , that tradition and all represent. However with that said and even though our grand flag can't yet fly there everything else is on target. What I did notice is another bar not too far away from Shorty's is up for sale, and while its not Shorty's the price is extremely attractive. What do you think would happen to Shorty's traffic if one were to open up something similar and honor the traditions of real southern rebel kountry and what was the base for Shorty's? Two maybe 3 years maximum would the time frame for Shorty's to collapse. Once that happened the KOA swoops in snags the place and real Tradition is revived. and made real as it was the way it should be. We'll see how thins roll out but Shorty's is just one example of what happens when someone harvests the firms name but not its soul. One thing I have seen in many of these is like Flying J Inc. When Jay Call passed away , Flying J went into or began its decent into a deep pyle. Same thing took place with several other firms that I deal with, and it even happens when the family takes over. But they do not feel the passion of the vision of the founder. Same thing has purtty much happened to Shorty's Saloon. But guess what ? Change is coming. And as usual its the KOA and the AyreWolves about to do the deed. Its just the way we are. It will continue. Its just gratifying to know that even with a name change the KOA remains dedicated and solid to its foundation and respects traditions of what we were and what we will become.

Its been fabled that wolves howl at a full moon. It was one tonight on the way home from Boise, and yes I pulled off the road between Hammett and Mountain Home got out of the truck, and howled like the two legged wolf I am.

Relocation mission begins this week coming, Boise is within sight.

Seeing the light

Over the past few weeks I have seen the decline of the status or quality of life for many here in western Idaho. Between greedy politicians to a declining infrastructure to just plain pigheads that can't see the forest for the trees I came to the conclusion cuncussion at around 23:00 hours previous date of what the hell am I doing in Glenns Ferry. The days of small town Idaho or desire of living in same purtty much went out the front door once a lady who runs a food store here who damn well knows my paychecks are good refused to cash one. Sezz that it costs her money, well chute I'll give her the damn $3.00 to cash the damn thing. Hong Kong Phooey. No McDonalds, no Maverick Store, not even a good cheap place to grab coffee anymore. Both grocery stores don't sell much of the good stuff any more, and one even accused me of hijacking a bottle of cold medicine, the other day, my ass. Hell I have not lifted a damn thing in my life cept maybe some Milk Duds when I was 7 and got my ass paddles so bad at the store I'd never done that no how no way since. Besides I'd cough and grunt before I swiped anything, like cold medicine, and NyQuil, gotta be kidding, NyQuil would kill me can't take that stuff, something in it closes off my wind pipe. So sedd the Med Doctor so cain't take that. Between all of that and the fact my tow truck got ripped off the tow list just cuzz she needs a paint job, Bullshit, Sooner I gets ta movin the better, so starting that in February cuzz all ready paid fer this month, But be fer sure I is all but outta this place. Then saw in the MHN that some old fart or hen thought me and some Atomic mutt was the same feller, kiss my six. Can ya'll believe that? No way Jose, The AyreWolf is me and the AyreWolf can't be anyone else cuzz I got that handle copyrighted ya'll just cain't have that one , no how , no way. However I will miss Missy and Mike , but fer the rest of it bullshit, ain't enuff going on here to even make me stay and buy a beer, so the Wolf is out of here.
